Mike and family arrived on Whidbey Island in 1874. He has a thorough comprehension of Whidbey Island’s history and an extensive knowledge about many of the founding families of the island. Mike was an Island County Cemetery Commissioner until 1997 when he relinquished the position to become the Caretaker of Maple Leaf Cemetery. Due to his compassion to our clients, commitment to the cemetery, and his knowledge of Whidbey Island he has proven to be an excellent asset to our staff.
A big THANK YOU to our tree and shrub maintenance company, Cascadia Small Tree and Shrub -www.cascadiastas.com. Sal Noeldner and his team did a great job of getting our trees trimmed and healthy .
Commissioners meet the second Tuesday of every month at 6:00 pm at the cemetery office.
The public is encouraged to attend.
We offer GREEN BURIALS now. Please call the office for more information.
Our Bookkeeper is Janet Olson. Janet has her own bookkeeping business on Whidbey Island that she started in 1997. She loves living here and is a great help to the cemetery.
